Allyson Lipkin

Musician and Performer, DD Dagger
Allyson is a multi-media visual artist and performer under the name, DD Dagger. With a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin and a Associates in Applied Science from Austin Community College, she has worked as a professional artist and musician since the mid ninety’s. She has won awards for her design and artwork, and seeks new collaborations with each new year. She taught adults Watercolor, Printmaking, and Stained Glass at the Dougherty Arts Center for 10 years.
As a musician she has toured Europe and completed 4 full-length records of her own songs and compositions. She has worked with exciting Austinites including Producer Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Heartless Bastards) as well as recorded as a side musician on many international records.
She is a talented session player as well as composer. She tours with her band Minor Mishap Marching Band (a twenty-five piece brass band) and plays as a side-woman with Texas Hall of Famer Paul Minor among many other talents.
She is currently producing a full length record in Sao Paulo Brazil entitled "The Sao Paulo Sessions" with producer Bruno Serroni and taking a tour there in April. She is signed to Loop Reclame Discos.
She has been called a Renaissance woman because she views each new creative opportunity as an exciting adventure, regardless of the medium. At the heart of this adventure is a desire to learn, accept, communicate, and visualize. Her goals are to work with the community to educate, entertain, enliven, and communicate her original, activist artistic vision.
Her favorite mediums are Site Specific Sculpture, Installation, Painting, Collage, Printmaking and Music.
